Project

Our client – a leading provider of Electronic System of Travel Authorisation (ESTA) visas – wanted to significantly increase their customer base by establishing a more dynamic online presence. They asked us to create an e-commerce website that would appeal to both tourists and business travellers, providing useful, easy-to-digest information about ESTA and clear instruction on how to go about applying for a visa. This project involved the design of a corporate identity/logo as well as the design and build of the website. The deadline was tight, and we were able to get the site up and running within six weeks of the initial brief.

Creative

Our strategy was to establish a strong brand identity to ensure that the site immediately appealed to customers, who would most likely already be looking forward to their US visit. Sticking to a red, white and blue colour theme and incorporating classic Americana imagery, we created a streamlined yet bold website design that clearly laid out the purpose of the ESTA, the qualification requirements and the various stages involved in applying. Once they have submitted their request for a visa, customers are able to easily track the progress of their application on the website by using their personalised reference number.

At the backend, we developed security features to protect the purchaser's personal information and an HTML email service that notifies customers on the status of their application during every stage of the process. The site is database driven using PHP and MYSQL, allowing the client to log into the secure administration area to process and manage applications.

Upshots

The new website was an instant hit, taking over 600 applications in the first four days. To boost traffic even further, a pay per click campaign was organised, and applications and conversions increased even further. Our client is really pleased with the finished product, praising the overall look and feel of the site and the easy-to-use admin function. In fact, they were so impressed that they have already retained us to work on a number of other projects.
